Ripton Community Coffee House Presents Kathleen Pemble Saturday, March 1

Kathleen Pemble is a relative newcomer to the singer-songwriter field, but since she made up her mind to start playing professionally six years ago, a noteworthy amount has been achieved; she has been featured twice in The New York Times in the past four years, has been featured on WFUV's New Music Mondays, and was the Winner of The New York City Song Slam.

Pemble has been playing at venues varying from The Knitting Factory, The Cutting Room and 'Live on Stage' at the World Trade Center concert series in NYC, and The Bitter End to The Towne Crier in upstate New York. She brings extremely diverse musicality and relentlessly honest writing to every performance.

The New York Times said, "...Ms. Pemble started singing, and the ambient noise in the café disappeared as if by magic". Another article The New York Times said " Winning melodies in the folk-pop vein delivered with strong, supple vocals made Ms. Pemble's music compelling.” Her songs are each unique, full of variety, various tempos, and little lyrical surprises.”

Pemble released a live album in the fall of 2003 which is available on CD Baby, and in 2004 released her first studio album, “Learning to Listen Again” produced by Billy Masters, (of the Suzanne Vega band). Her third album, recorded live at The Barn in Cold Spring, New York is in the final mixing stages.
