Other towns influenced by Ripton's river planning

Our town's river planning process seems to have won admirers, according to this report:
Middlebury River Management Planning Task Force to be Formed. Following the model of the successful river management planning effort in Ripton, the Board endorsed forming a Task Force to develop a plan for on-going management of the Middlebury River as it flows through East Middlebury.

Unfortunately we in East Middlebury are also influenced by Ripton's roads and culverts, bits of some of which are laying in the river behind my home! Ripton has done a lot of good things, but we still have a lot of work to do, together, to improve the watershed health and safety of the Middlebury River. I'm thankful that this sort of thing is coming together, but what we need is a united Ripton + East Middlebury watershed management effort, rather than two seperate ones.
